Kenyan content creator Cassypool believes the unrest experienced in the country through demonstrations is funded by someone.
In an interview with one media outlet, Cassypool says the aim of the enemy is to remove Ruto and his government from power.
“This is not something usual. I strongly believe that there is an upper hand, an enemy within and out of the country, mwenye amekaa chini na amesema he must bring down the government of William Ruto.” Cassypool stated.
The content creator reveals that the enemy smiles whenever there is an emergence of something that will put the government at crossroads like the quarry killings.
His comments come after the government have accused FORD foundation of funding demonstrations in the country.
However, the comedian has been criticized for his opinion. Netizens reject his say maintaining that the protests are of the educated and informed youth who are leaderless.
Earlier, the government of Kenya through the Principal Secretary for Foreign Affairs Korir Sing’oei has written a letter to the foundation.
In the letter, the government reminds the foundation of policies governing external organizations based in the country.
“While we recognize the importance of maintaining an open civic space and respect for the principles of open government that we both share. the actions of some of your Grantees contravene the laws Kenya, including prohibiting against incitement, hate speech, insurrection and mobilization using disnformation.” Korir Sing’oei, PS Foreign Affairs.
The letter requests information from Ford Foundation with respect to specific grants. It is a targeted request and does not impugn the organization’s activities writ large. I am sure a similar request to the organization on its funding to joywo, OGP and others can equally be made… https://t.co/gV0kTFHVEk

“Your Grantees conduct fundamentally flouts Ford Foundation’s Non-Lobying Policy begging the questions whether your foundation has abandoned this policy and is now intent on adversely influencing the internal political and policy processes withing the republic of Kenya.” He added.
“Provide full details of your Grantees over the last year, the programmes approved (particularly over the last three months), budgets for each project, the amounts so far disbursed and what is pipelined for disbursement,” Korir demanded.
Throughout the demonstrations in the country, the Kenya Kwanza administrations raised concerns of a possibility of influence and funding of the protests by people of ill will.
