Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Divine Ikubor, popularly known as Rema is the latest inductee in the Guinness World Book Of Records.

The 23-year old superstar pilled off the feat with his global hit song “Calm Down” which made history by becoming
the number one hit on the official MENA Chart which is the world’s regional streaming chart.

Guinness World Record congratulated Rema for reaching this milestone by issuing a statement through
their website recently.

“On 29 November 2022, the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) announced that Calm Down by the Nigerian rapper Rema (b. Divine Ikubor) had become the first No.1 on The Official MENA Chart – the world’s first regional music streaming chart and the first-ever official chart in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA),” part of the statement read.

It confirmed that Rema was being recognised for securing the first number 1 hit on the world’s first
regional streaming chart and the first ever official chart in the middle east and north Africa(MENA).

This feat now sees Rema join the likes of Femi Kuti aWizkid and other Nigerian musicians with Guinness
World Records.

Last year, Barack Obama former US President included Rema on his playlist. Also recall that Kemi Filani reported weeks back that Rema’s Calm Down had hit 1 billion streams on Spotify.
