Grammy-award winning afrobeat singer Damini Ogulu alias Burna Boy is the latest artist to experience the wrath of dimming fame.
This is after the African giant’s highly anticipated concert in South Africa, where he was was set to perform in the FNB stadium got postponed on Tuesday night .
Issuing a statement, the ticket pro management which is the firm that was organizing the concert cited low ticket sales as one of the major factors that pushed the firm to postpone the event.
The firm stated the next scheduled date was 16 December 2023 , advising fans that the already purchased tickets would remain valid until the said date.
“Official statement; postponement of Burna boy’s South Africa concert.
”We regret to announce the postponement of the highly anticipated Burna boy concert scheduled to take place at the FNB stadium Johannesburg on 23 September 2023. The concert will now take place on 16 December 2023. The decision was not made lightly by the promoter and comes as a result of careful consideration and assessment of various factors including the lack of ticket sales” read part of the statement.”
The self-proclaimed African giant took to his Instagram account to react to his latest setback. He stated that he had been to South Africa the previous year and 100 thousand fans had attended his concert.
The” last last ” hit maker then called out the cancellation news terming the whole saga as an agenda that would not succeed before sending his love to South Africans and assuring them that he would see them soon.
This is not the first time the musician has found himself in the arms of controversy especially with South Africans.
In December 6′ 2020 Burna Boy took to his Twitter account and posted up tweets condemning the xenophobic attacks by south Africans on Nigerians and other countries.
The singer announced that he would never set foot in South Africa until the issue got resolved.
