Isaac Wekesa, popularly known as Bungoma Goliath, has landed a job in Nairobi after begging on the streets for renown public figures to help him.
Wekesa has been in Nairobi for three months since ditching his life in Bungoma as a boda boda rider. He came to Nairobi with the aim of pursuing a better life for himself and his family back at home but all has not been well.
On Monday night, after attending an interview with Comedian Obinna, Bungoma Goliath was left stranded in the streets with allegedly only Kshs500 in his pocket, which could not even ferry him back to Western.
He opted to beg for help from Nairobi’s Environment Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria. Mosiria heeded the plea and came to his rescue, providing him a shelter for the night. He further intervened, ensuring that Bungoma Goliath secures a job at a club in Kilimani.
“He told me he doesn’t want to go back home. I brought him to this club called Ibiza and the director has agreed to give him a bouncer job. They will discuss and agree on terms and payments. He will work and fend for himself. From there if he has other plans, he will rent a house in the city,” Mosiria said.
Goliath is expected to begin his job this Wednesday evening.
Mosiria further criticized Obinna for advising Bungoma Goliath to go back home and return to his boda boda job.
“He is not going back to Western. My friend Obinna encourage these guys, they are just trying to fend for themselves , even if someone is dancing badly, don’t tell him that just tell him you have tried but you can do better,” the county official said.
