Willy Paul and Comedian Eric Omondi have joined forces for an upcoming concert, after the singer’s performance at Furaha Fest last Saturday was marred with drama and chaos.
The duo are planning to host a show on Valentine’s Day in 2025 and have urged Kenyans to show up in large number for the sake of the Saldido Boss.
“Valentines Day it is. Willy Paul will be performing live hosted by yours truly. Calling upon Kenyans, let’s support our boy. He has really been putting in the work,” Eric shared online.
The much anticipated Furaha Festival has caused a stir both in Kenya and Tanzania, after Willy Paul and Diamond fought for a performance slot. The event took a turn for worse when Diamond requested to perform earlier, although he was the headliner. His request would have seen him consume Willy Paul’s time.
Willy Paul was however not generous enough to lend Diamond his time, and instead put up a fight that saw him take to the stage at his allocated time. He lamented about being mistreated and even being assaulted by Diamond’s security.
Diamond left the event without performing after his request was not granted, further angering fans who had turned up in large numbers to witness him on stage.
The event organisers issued a statement to address to the turn of events. According to them, they made every effort to accommodate Diamond but his team’s ‘behaviour and demands were unnecessarily overbearing.’
“While we acknowledge there was a minor security issue involving another artist, we swiftly resolved it and ensured that the event continued in a safe and professional manner. We believe in treating all artists equally and maintaining high-quality standards for everyone involved,” the statement read in part.
