Makanga

A dramatic moment ensued at the burial of popular Supermetro tout Gerald Mwangi aka Makanga Bae in Wangige.

This is after his family lamented about misappropriation of funds that saw basic commodities such as food and water miss at the event, with the family being blamed and labelled greedy.

According to the deceased’s mother, there were people claiming to have contributed but the family never received the said amount of money.

“We wanted to send off Gerald with dignity. But his friends, who are here, contributed, and they are asking why we are burying him like this. This place was supposed to look like paradise because this was Gerald’s last day on earth. But there’s a group insulting us the family, calling us greedy. There is a man called Muturi who said he gave us money, but as a family, we received no money. It pains us as a family because we were able to bury him.”

“I have never seen this. Muturi said he bought the coffin for Ksh 50,000 and paid KSh 85,000 for food. Today, there is no water or food. What a shame, and they are the people posting us online. I have left them to God,”  she said.

Makanga bae passed away recently after being involved in an accident while in the line of duty. Before his death, he was admitted in hospital while in a coma and even had his leg amputated. His death left his online family sad and devastated.
