American TikToker Baba Jimmy and his wife Mama Jimmy have often been subjected to ridicule because of their deep Luhya accent.

Despite being an American, the evangelist adopted the Luhya accent having stayed in Western Kenya for years. The accent however disappears as soon as he switches to his original language. For Mama Jimmy her accent is notable whether she speaks English or Swahili and netizens have been on her case for long, often mimicking her whenever she uploads a new video.

The couple have however hit back at critics saying accent is not the way to heaven but good deeds.

“Mama Jimmy, accent inapeleka watu mbinguni?” Baba Jimmy questioned his wife in a video they shared on TikTok.

“Hapana,” she responded.

Her husband went ahead to note that any accent would work on the Judgment Day.

“We should not look at people’s accent but their actions and their hearts. The most important thing is for our hearts to  be clean,” they concluded.
