When Willy Paul fell out with Miss P in 2021, in November the same year, he introduced singer Mike Rua’s daughter as her replacement.
The new replacement bore the stage name of Queen P, with fans convinced that he was trying to get back at Miss P, who accused him of sexual assault.
In an interview with Kenya Online Media, Queen P, who refers to herself as Telani, has however denied claims that Willy Paul sought her to replace Miss P.
“I didn’t know, I don’t think in the back of my head I had the idea there was a replacement going on, I don’t think that was in his head at the time, it was just creativity,” she said.
Queen P released a banger with Willy Paul titled Pressure and she went missing, never to be heard of again. According to her, she only worked with Willy Paul for around 7 months before her family decided that she should go back to school.
“Basically nothing much, the working relationship was great and all that and then we(with her family) one day just decided to, this was the right moment for me to go back to school and focus on work and studying, which was okay with me. It was a tough decision because at the end of the day, the future was promising, it was a nice career to partake on but then my heart would also consider my family’s decision and ideas on how I could also take a different path career-wise, I went back to school, it has been nice and now that everything is settled nikaona I can multi-task and test my capabilities,”she said.
Queen P admitted that she benefitted a lot from working with Willy Paul including mastering the craft and making of the beats.
“His work ethic for me is what stood out na nikasema if I ever go back to singing career, I would borrow that from him. He has such a nice work ethic,” she admitted
She also denied ever having a bad encounter with Willy Paul, like Miss P alleged to have had.
“I don’t think I have been in a situation where I had a bad experience with him, for me I was just focusing on learning…Of course there are so many things being thrown at him, whether they are true I don’t know, ” Queen P said.
