A woman in Nairobi is nursing serious wounds after being stabbed at a short stay rental apartment in Kilimani Area, Nairobi after a meeting with a legislature.

The victim, Patricia Muthoni Karanja was invited to the meeting in a club in Kilimani. The meeting turned into a party, and later, the politician, Muthoni and two other women decided to stay at the rental apartment in Kilimani.

At the apartment, the two women however attacked Muthoni, stabbing her several times.

“She tried to stab me I blocked my face and now she stabs at me, there were some forks and cutlery that were laid out on the table, right next to where we were seated. That is where they got the cutlery to break around and stab me with. Mercy was holding the fork and she tried to come at with, Sally on this side  ends up stabbing me on this other. I was stabbed around three-four times,” she said.

“For about 40 minutes or so, I was banging on the door, I was screaming. They would try and come in. Anytime they came in I was recording them with my phone coz I realized its either that or am gonna go like that and nobody would ever know what happened,” she told Citizen TV. 

After the assault, Muthoni was locked in the room and left alone. Security guards came to her rescue  after hearing cries for help.

“They immediately called the cops. The moment I got to the station, they could not even take my statement because I was a bit hysterical and out of consciousness,” she said.

The suspects have since been arrested and they are facing assault charges.

“The stab wound is so deep. The lower left abdomen that is where she got the injury. Investigations are on and we will get the true names, the true picture of what happened,”Kilimani Police Commander Kobia Bariu
