Kenyan activist and musician Kasmuel says President William Ruto cannot be trusted with his move to dismiss some of his Cabinet.
In an interview with one media station, Kasmuel presented his thoughts on what the president was needed and needs to do.
“I think the President of the republic of Kenya cannot be trusted. This is politically sinister move made for self-preservation as a sign of goodwill,” Kasmuel argued.
He adds that the President has not taken this action out of his will but made to do it from the public pressure and weekly protests.
“He’s shown reluctance in following the constitution which has been one of the main things we’ve been agitating for.
“He might have dismissed his entire cabinet, but he still maintains the unconstitutional position of the office of the prime cabinet secretary.”
“This is a display of self-preservation. if the president wanted to do the right thing he would have,” he added.
However, one X user had a different reasoning over this matter and commented saying:
“The position (which can be eliminated) aside, Mudavadi is unquestionably competent. He is extensively experienced, and he relates well both with the public and foreign partners,” X user commented.
Furthermore, Eric Omondi, an activist has presented other demands to the President telling him he is in a position to leave a legacy.
“We need a very lean government. I would suggest Mr. President, take your time, when you are ready, we need to cut the number of counties and governance from 47 to 24.”
Omondi further tarnished the position of Women Representatives saying their effect in governance is not visible.
“Am very disappointed in my friends, how could we have a clause in the finance bill 2024 that taxes pads yet we have 47 women reps?
“I can confidently say we don’t need women reps!” Omondi stated.
