Sofapaka head coach Zedekiah Zico Otieno has assured the Club’s faithful supporters that the team will not be relegated.

Zico said that his main objective and the players is to keep the Club in the top tier league, he said that he believes that he will ensure that the 2009/2010 FKF league winners will remain in the league.

Sofapaka found themselves in a dangerous position near the relegation zone but they have made the first step in evading the chop by securing a relegation playoff position.

They will play against the third best team in the national super league where by the winner will be featuring in the FKF premier league next season.

Sofapaka have been facing financial challenges in the recent seasons which have made it impossible for the team to challenge for titles.

Over the weekend the made a comeback securing a 3-1 win against Nzoia sugar.

Zico said that they are still on course to achieve the target.

” From the beginning, we were fighting to avoid relegation and i did say that Sofapaka will not be relegated. For us, we just want to focus. Next week, we will know our opponents and thereafter we start preparing for them”, he said.

Zico has also disclosed that he is not going to change his strategy or Sofapaka’s approach in the playoffs as they have been playing well.

Sofapaka will either face Naivas or Nairobi united .
