On Thursday last week, the Finance Bill 2024 passed the second reading stage with 204 MPs voting to approve it against 115 who rejected it.
MPs voted by acclamation as opposed to secret ballot. The vote came upon conclusion of a heated debate.
During the second reading, the bill will now be debated clause by clause.
Nasra Yusuf stands out as one of the few women who have achieved success. Having featured as a comedian on the ‘Churchill Show’, she fully maximized the opportunity.
In 2023, Nasra successfully hosted comedy events under her name, attracting fellow comedians who have come out to show their support.
Despite her talent, she never thought comedy would become her job. Her classmates called her “Eric Omondi” in high school because of her jokes and sense of humor.
Before making her appearance on the Churchill Show in 2017, Nasra had several auditions but was turned down each time.
She joined Comedy Arena, a local comedy program that once aired on Kenya Broadcasting Corporation, as a result of her persistence and dedication.
