Following the brutal murder of several women in the country in the past few days, women across the country are protesting, calling for the end of femicide.
Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris joined the protesters in Nairobi but encountered a rude shock while attempting to address them at Jevanjee gardens.
Passaris was forced to climb from the podium when the activists clearly showed no interest of listening to her.
“Where were you, go back home” the crowd shouted at her.

The politician was then forced to just join the peaceful walk, a carrying placard with anti-femicide messages.
Speaking to the media, Passaris noted that it was important for the president to speak on the matter.
“First of all I have spoken to a few CSs and said that the president’s voice need to be heard on this. I am proud that our party leader Raila Odinga did speak to it almost two weeks ago so we need the president to speak to it. We need the president to understand that families of these women who have brutally been murdered have got so much trauma and they need to feel that the state acting on their behalf and that the president has understood their pain.
“Every woman here they are all pained by what we have seen. You’ve got to be totally inhuman not to feel the pain of this girl who have been killed brutally.
