Tanzanian Bongo singer Christina Shusho has been trending on social media in Kenya for a couple of days now.

This is because it was noted that her songs are a total replica of Bible verses.

From Shusha nyavu which  was exactly quoted from Luke Chapter 5:4 to Ning’are whose words were quoted frome Isaya Chapter 60: 1,  Shusho left Kenyans and netizens at large with mixed reactions.

While some thought that directly quoting the Bible was lack of creativity many were mesmerised by how her songs were inspired by the Holy book.

“Christina Shusho is a vessel of God. The word of God has always inspired her music,” a social media user noted.

Another said, “This how gospel music ought to be done. Inspired by the scripture.”

Some have been praising her beauty as others hoped that she would come and perform in the country before the year ends.

The good news is that she has finally bowed to the pressure.

Through a tweet, the gospel singer said that she is working with Comedian Churchil so that she can hold a concert before the year ends.

“Due to increasing demands for a concert in Kenya my team and I are working with @MwalimuChurchil to have a concert  on the 31st December(Kiingereza kimeisha),” she said.

In mid-September, Shusho was in Kenya upon being invited by comedian Eric Omondi for a short tour in the country in a bid to help revive the gospel music industry.

According to him, he settled on Shusho as the perfect person for the job after traversing the whole of Africa.

Shusho on the other hand observed that the Kenya gospel music was not completely dead.

“Gospel industry iko sawa. Iko sawa kabisa. Makosa tu kidogo inatokea lakini kuna watu wazuri hapa. Kuna wale remnant. Wazuri.Wapo. Mercy Masika yuko hapo na wengine wachache,” said the singer.
