Azimio die hard supporter Nuru Okanga shocked many after revealing that he is sitting for KCPE 2023 exams.
The 32-year old is sitting for the national exams because he plans to contest for an MCA position in 2027.
Okanga spoke to the press shortly after sitting for his first paper at Mumias Muslim Primary School.
He said that he decided to sit for KCPE in order to acquire a certificate which would enable him to vie for MCA seat at Warera ward.
“Jinsi tu niliambia watu wangu ya kwamba leo siku ya Monday ntakalia mtihani nashukuru Mungu nimeamka mzima nikafika shule mapema na mtihani imeanza leo, tumeanza na msomo ya hesabu. Mimi nimeamua kufanya Standard Eight ili nikue na certificate kwa sababu 2027 niko kwa ballot na baba yangu alikufa mapema sikueza kusoma. Nimeona nirudi nifanye mtihani nitafte karatasi kwa sababu MCA inahitajika ukue na certificate ya Standard Eight usimame upitishwe na IEBC, ” Okanga said.
The azimio enthusiast dropped from school in class three. He however said that he prepared well for the exams as he had been taught by a lecturer at the comfort of his home. He says that his teacher saw his potential in various subjects such as Kiswahili and Mathematics.
“Mwalimu ameona mimi naenda kupita mia kwa mia. Ameona mimi niko wise sana kwa kiswahili, niko wise kwa math, na niko wise kwa hesabu…. hesabu sasa mimi ni chopi, wananita chopi…hapo kwa hesabu wachungane na mimi sana,” the aspiring MCA said.
Okanga further revealed his expectations as far as his KCPE results are concerned.
“Mimi matarajio yangu kwa hiyo mtihani kwa sababu nimekula kula papers kidogo kidogo, na nikiongezea na huko nyuma nyuma na izi experience niko nayo kidogo kidogo, ummm mimi nikipata marks mia tatu, kama two ninety iko sawa sitaki mingi,” he said.
He looks forward to joining a high school and also sit for KCSE. He will further proceed to a tertiary institution as he looks forward to not only stop as MCA position but go all the to presidency.
“When I am 64 years old, I will vie for presidency. I will only serve as MCA for one term and go for MP seat. I will serve once in every position,” he said
