Azimio La umoja opposition party leader Hon Raila Odinga  embarrassed  himself in one of the  African Climate Summit sessions

According to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Raila wanted to sit among elected leaders yet he was not one of them.

“Juzi amekuja pale KICC nimemkaribisha vizuri. Si mliona? Kwa heshima kwa sababu yeye ni mzee wetu, amekuja tumememwalika.Sasa badala aende aketi kwa kiti yake anataka kukaa marais mahali wamekaa wale wamechaguliwa. Na ii mtu kuna mtu amemchagua? Watu wanauliza huyu ni rais ya wapi,” Gachagua said.

He however noted that they went out of their way to ensure that Raila  was comfortable.

“Pale kwa hall tumempa kiti yake ya heshima, hata alikua number nne kutoka kwangu akae pale kama mzeee,anaskiza maneno akikaa kaa usingizi ukizidi anang’orota kidogo hakuna shida,” said Gachagua.

Raila made a surprise visit at KICC during the second day of the Africa Climate Summit. He was received by Gachagua.

“I welcomed him at KICC because he is our elder. However, he wanted to sit at the place designated for presidents. That place even a minister could not enter, only heads of state. We were wondering who elected him president,” Gachagua said.

The DP added that during their brief conversation at the event, he urged the former prime minister to consider retiring, assuring that the government was ready to accord him the necessary support, even grant him a motorcade with outriders.

“Na huyo ni mzee wetu, na nilimwambia siku hiyo tunataka tumchunge. Tunataka tumchunge,tumpatie retirement  yake,tumtaftie askari,tumtaftie gari, na nyumba ya kukaa,akitaka piki piki moja au mbili ya kumwongoza theres no problem,ama iko makosa?Aende nyumbani,” he said.
