Zuhura Othman popularly known as Zuchu is one of the four children of veteran Taarab singer Khadija Kopa.
Zuchu and Khadija have only collaborated in one song before. The song is titled MauzaMauza and was released before Zuchu became famous.
Zuchu became famous after joining Diamond’s recording label, Wasafi. The Sukari hitmaker was able to land the golden opportunity thanks to her mother.
It is however difficult for Khadija Kopa to feature Zuchu in her songs because she is in signed under a recording label. In an interview with Millard TV, the Taarab singer admitted that she might not have enough money to pay Zuchu to appear in her songs.
She however noted that she has been featured in Zuchu’s Taarab song that is yet to be recorded.
“Zuchu anayo nyimbo ya Taarab ambayo nitashiriki kidogo tu bado harecord. Nawezakumshirikisha lakini inategemea maanake yuko kwenye label yule nitakuwa na hela ya kumlipa mie kumshirikisha kwenye nyimbo yangu? Sina hela maanake yule yuko kwenye label. Label yake ikitaka nimlipe nitamlipa nini. Kumzaa sio hoja, yuko kwenye label,” Khadija Kopa said.
Zuchu was unveiled as Wasafi’s signee in April 2020.
