Soy member of Parliament David Kiplagat has raised concerns about the safety and security of parliament buildings after his phone charger got stolen.

Speaking at Parliament sitting on Thursday10th August, Kiplagat questioned the parliament security asking the speaker if the lawmakers could be assured of their safety when inside the building.

“I want to seek your indulgence whether we are safe in this house and the premises of this house” Kiplagat asked.

Kiplagat said he is doubting if the constituency leaders were safe in parliament when something as small as a phone charger could disappear from the premises.

The lawmaker claimed he had left his phone charging at the parliament lobby upon coming back to collect it, his charger was missing.

“Today at around two, I  left my phone to charge at the lobby but I found out the phone had been left and the  charger taken away. So I want to seek your indulgence whether we are actually safe to leave our gadgets wherever we are in this building” he said.

This comes two months after nominated member of Parliament  Sabina Chege claimed that her iPhone 14 was stolen during the chaos that erupted in Parliament National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula retained her as Deputy Minority Whip.

” Apart from beating me, they proceeded to steal my phone. It is an iPhone 14, and your Excellency our DP Rigathi Gachagua, I request for your intervention and support so that I can recover the phone. Those who stole the phone, please hand it back to me,” she said.” Chege said.
