In a heartwarming union that has captivated the nation after clips of it found themselves online, Gladys  Shollei, the esteemed Uasin Gishu woman representative and National Assembly speaker finaly exchanged vows with her longtime lover, Neil Horn, in a breathtaking traditional ceremony.

The joyous occasion which was private until invitees posted pics online, it was attended by close family and friends, marked a new chapter in Shollei’s life, taking her off the market with her “Mzungu bae with whom she has been dating for about 3years.

The couple’s journey to this cherished day spanned more than three years, during which they openly celebrated their affection for one another through a series of heartwarming photos shared on social media.

The wedding was very simple from deco to the groom and bride’s dressing, Shollei wore a flowy red dress, a black clutch bag and accessorized the look with a Maasai neckpiece.

This celebration of love contrasts with Shollei’s past, having been married to former KTN boss Sam Shollei. Their 26-year marriage officially came to a close in 2020, as irreconcilable differences led to the dissolution.

The couple, who had tied the knot at St Francis Church in Karen on December 10, 1994, had been living separately since 2016, a fact cited by Sam Shollei in the divorce proceedings. The court documents unveiled a situation where the marriage was beyond repair, prompting Sam to file for divorce.

Remarkably, Gladys Shollei chose not to appear in court during the divorce proceedings, a move that allowed the case to proceed without objection.

Gladys Shollei’s stance on the divorce was rooted in her desire to protect her privacy and dignity. She expressed concern that her ex-husband’s threats to sensationalize the details of the case could cause irreparable harm. She also voiced fears over his erratic behavior, which had raised questions about his mental stability, potentially endangering both her and their son.

Glady’s Shollei’s wedding happened barely a week after his son’s wedding and some Kenyans are displeased.
