Tanzanian singer Diamond Platinumz was recently accused of sampling Nigerian music.
An Instagram account identified as Unorthodox Reviews listed 7 of Diamond’s song that have been clearly copied from Nigerian artists such as Wizkid, Burna Boy, Spyro among others.
“All The Times Diamond Platnumz was Inspired by Nigeria 🇳🇬🇹🇿💛,” the author said.
The songs include Enjoy featuring Juma Jux which was released just a few days ago. The song is believed to have been motivated by Spyro’s Who’s your guy.
Diamond and Mbosso’s Yataniua was said to have been copied from Asake’s Pbuy while Jeje was copied from Wizkid’s Joro.
Other songs are Gidi which is said to have been copied from Burna Boys, Gbona, Baba Lao from Naira Marley’s Soapy, Loyal from Tem’s Essence and Show you the money from Wizkid.

Diamond has however addressed the reports saying that if others do the same they are referred to as geniuses while for them they are accused of copying. The artist said that while commenting on a post by Juma Jux that was aimed at promoting their Enjoy song.

Wangekua waumiza vichwa kweli wangeimba Mangaka, lizombe au Lingunjumu Ngoma na miziki ya kwetu…Mbona wameenda Kudandia Amapiano? tena zakuandikiwa… Nyenyenye! Nyenyenye! Fyuuuuu!.” he said.
Meanwhile, Diamond is expected to perform in Canada this coming weekend. Diamond was seen off by Zuchu at the airport. The duo were captured kissing and cuddling as they said their goodbyes.
