A 20 year old man hailing from Uasin Gishu has been slapped with a 2 year jail term after committing an indecent act with a cow.
Issuing the ruling Eldoret principal magistrate Caroline Wamita stated revealed that the evidence provided before her proves that the accused is guilty of the crime.
“I have heard and considered the evidence adduced in court and I find the accused guilty as charged,” stated the magistrate before adding that the cow ought to have been treated with respect.
“All animals should be treated with respect and dignity as human beings, I therefore sentence you to two years in jail”
The 20 year old, who goes by the name Billy Kipchumba who is a farm worker at Seretio village in Moiben, Uasin Gishu County admitted committing the act on 11th September at 7 am saying he had a strong sexual urge he could not control.
He also told the court that he used a condom while committing the awful act in his remorseful speech as he pleaded with the court to pardon him in what he termed as the works of the devil.
“Your honor, I am pleading with the court to forgive me, this is the first time I have committed such an offence. I had a strong sexual urge that I could not control and this must be the work of the devil,” he pleaded.
The owner narrated the account of events as he had heard commotion in his cowshed in the early hours of Monday morning before finding Kipchumba in the act.
